The setup wizard
Every step of first-run setup, from activating your license to your first ticket.
The first time you open your installed instance, it walks you through a setup wizard. You can leave at any point and come back. Each step is saved as you complete it.
License
Start 14-day trial (no card needed), enter a license key, Buy license, or, on Enterprise, upload an offline license file.
Create the owner account
The first account is always the Owner: the only role that can manage billing and transfer the license. You can invite Admins, Developers and Viewers afterwards from Settings → Users.
Connect Claude
Choose your provider (an Anthropic API key from the Anthropic Console, or Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI or Microsoft Foundry for enterprise deployments), paste your key, and run Test connection. Pick a default model and effort level; you can set a different model per pipeline stage later in Settings.
This step is upfront about cost: Anthropic bills your key directly for AI usage, including during the trial, and the wizard shows your trial spending caps and an estimated cost per ticket next to the key field. It also links to the Anthropic Console so you can set a spend limit on their side too.
Connect your repository
Give it your repository URL and credentials (a fine-grained token or a deploy key), then Test clone. Set your base branch and choose a branch strategy: one branch and draft PR per ticket, or a single shared working branch.
Checks
The wizard inspects your repository and proposes build, lint, typecheck and test commands based on
what it finds (package.json, pyproject.toml, and similar). Edit anything it got wrong, then
run Run checks on base branch. If a tool it needs isn't installed, it tells you here rather
than letting a ticket fail on it later. See Auto-detected checks for the full

Notifications
Optional. Connect email, Slack or a webhook so your team hears about ships, escalations and needs-review tickets without watching the dashboard.
Create your first ticket
The wizard ends by taking you straight to a new ticket form.
No AI usage is included, even on the trial
The 14-day trial needs no card, but it doesn't include any model usage. You connect your own Anthropic key in step 3, and Anthropic bills you for it directly. Per-ticket and per-day spending caps keep that predictable; see Budgets and cost control for how they work.
