Bare metal & Raspberry Pi
Install Reqursor Development directly on Ubuntu or a Raspberry Pi 5, no Docker required.
For a Raspberry Pi 5 or a Linux server you'd rather not run Docker on, Reqursor Development installs directly with a single-line script and runs as two systemd services.
Requirements
- Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit, Bookworm) on a Raspberry Pi 5, or Ubuntu 24.04 (amd64).
sudoaccess and internet access for the installer, and afterwards for your model provider, git remote and the daily license heartbeat.- An SSD for
/dataon a Raspberry Pi. The install still works from the SD card, but SD cards wear out under this write pattern. Plan to move/datato an SSD before running it 24/7.
No battery-backed clock on a Pi? That's fine.
A Raspberry Pi with no RTC can boot believing it's the wrong date before it reaches the internet. This won't falsely expire your license. See Clock drift and crash recovery for why.
Install
Run this on the machine itself, with your license key:
curl -fsSL https://license.reqursor.com/install.sh | sudo bash -s -- --license <KEY>No trial key yet? Start the setup wizard without --license and choose Start 14-day trial
from the first step instead.
The installer:
- creates a dedicated
reqursorsystem user, so the agent and worker never run asrootor as you - installs into
/opt/reqursor-dev, with data under/var/lib/reqursor-dev - installs and enables two systemd services:
reqursor-dev-webandreqursor-dev-worker
When it finishes, open http://<your-server>:8765/ (or your reverse proxy's address, if you put
one in front) and continue with the setup wizard.
Managing the services
sudo systemctl status reqursor-dev-websudo systemctl restart reqursor-dev-workerLogs go through journalctl:
sudo journalctl -u reqursor-dev-worker -fUpdating
Settings → System → Check for updates shows new releases and their notes. Confirming takes a backup first, then installs, migrates and restarts, automatically rolling back to the backup if a migration fails. A running ticket always finishes its current stage before the restart. See Backups, updates and rollback for the full flow.
