Installation

Docker install

Run Reqursor Development as a Docker Compose stack.

Docker is the recommended install for most servers. It's the easiest to keep updated and it's how Reqursor Development is tested on both amd64 and arm64 (including a Raspberry Pi 5).

What you get

The stack is a Docker Compose file with three services, plus a fourth if your install uses it:

  • web: the dashboard and API.
  • worker: claims tickets from the queue and runs the pipeline. A crash here never takes the dashboard down, and a run it was in the middle of recovers automatically.
  • caddy: TLS termination in front of web.
  • runner (some installs): an isolated service the worker hands agent and check commands to, so the agent never runs in the same container as your secrets or license state.

All of it reads and writes a single /data volume: state, encrypted secrets, your license, project workspaces and run artifacts. That's the only thing you need to back up.

Requirements

  • Docker Engine with the Compose plugin, on a Linux host: amd64 or arm64.
  • The image itself needs no other host packages; it bundles what it needs to run Claude Code and drive git.

Install

Exact pull command lands with the first release

The image and Compose bundle download command is finalized alongside the 1.0 release, and this page will be updated with the single-line command. Until then, request a demo and we'll get a Docker install running for you directly.

Once you have the Compose bundle on your server:

docker compose up -d

Open https://<your-server>/ and continue with the setup wizard.

Adding your project's toolchain

The base image doesn't guess what your repository needs to build or test. It runs whatever checks you configure, and those need the right tools on PATH. If your project needs something the base image doesn't have (Node.js, for example), extend it:

FROM reqursor-development:<version>
RUN apt-get update && apt-get install -y nodejs npm

Point your Compose file's image: at the result and rebuild. The dashboard's Check base branch step (also the last step of the setup wizard) tells you if a check command still can't find its tool. See missing toolchain vs. a real failure for how that's reported.

Updating

The dashboard's Settings → System → Check for updates shows what's new. On Docker, apply it with:

docker compose pull && docker compose up -d

This waits for any running ticket to finish its current stage before restarting, so nothing is interrupted mid-stage. See Backups, updates and rollback for the full flow, including what happens if a migration fails.
