The board and ticket statuses
What each column on the Queue board means, and what moves a ticket between them.
The Queue page is a board with drag-to-reorder columns, plus a list view with filters and bulk actions if you'd rather work that way.
The columns
- Draft: being written. Not yet eligible to run; move it to Ready once it has acceptance criteria.
- Ready: has acceptance criteria, waiting to be picked up. Its position in this column (drag to reorder, or set a priority) decides the order Autopilot works through it.
- Queued: claimed by a worker, about to start.
- Running: the pipeline is actively working it: implement, checks, review and verify, security, then ship or escalate.
- Needs review: the pipeline finished but couldn't confidently satisfy every acceptance item. This is not the same as "broken": it means the evidence fell short, and it comes with a report of what was tried so a person can decide what happens next.
- Done / Failed: shipped (committed or opened as a PR), or failed outright with an escalation report.
A ticket edited while it's running
If you edit a ticket that's currently Running, the run in progress keeps working from the version it started with. It won't switch code out from under itself mid-run. The ticket shows a drift badge so you know it changed since the run started, and you can decide whether to let the current run finish or cancel and re-run against the new version.
Two people, one ticket
Pressing Run now twice, from two tabs or two people, always produces exactly one job. The second click doesn't start a duplicate run.
A ticket that stays in Running after a restart or crash isn't stuck. See Clock drift and crash recovery for what happens next.
